Decent and cheap as far as cheap beers go. Although after 10-12 of these my stomach can really feel some of the nastiness of it.

At least it's not pissweak and overpriced like a Corona.

cheap beer, with a nice-ish taste.

is good when i'm short on the money, which i usually am!!

the thing i like about this beer is that i don't find it to have a tiny little weird like taste i have with most other beers. which is why i enjoy the good old coldies

Coldies are ok to drink, always had a clear head after downing a heap the night before. $30 on special & tastes better than some beers twice the price that the sheep drink.

Yeah I used to be a big fan back in the day, but something has changed in the years I wasn't drinking it. Not just the alcohol content, it has a nasty aftertaste now. And I don't really get hungover, but I seem to get a headache when I drink this now. I bought it a few times because it was CHEEP and remembered the good old days... but those days are over, and this beer went to s**t.

Absolute monkey's piss that is staggeringly overrated. has an odd sour taste to it that i don't care for at all, also find it highly ironic that the label says it is specially brewed to stay fresher for longer but they present it in a clear stubbie which means it goes stale faster.

Acceptable. Remember when this & Hahn Ice were the yuppie beers of the day? 1992? All them "Screen Jockeys" getting pissed on this at that pub in Circular Quay. How the brew wheel has turned! Now it is the Tooheys Red of my middle age. Cheap & f**ken cheerful

Nowhere near as black as it's painted. The cans were
horrid though. Not happy they dropped the alcohol content though, even so I refuse to pay $40 a slab
for local beer. Buy 7 at a time when on special.

Tasteless dribble, go for Carton Dry if you must, that's got some sort of weak flavour to it at least

I would rate this no stars if this thing worked properly

I have being drinking carlton cold for years, since it changed for the worse the drink of choice is Boags Classic Blonde cost more about $40 better than what CUB are dishing up now.A bit light on taste alright for me
CUB I will go back if you change it back.

I have to agree - I have been drinking the old brew for years and found it to be the best beer I have ever tasted - gets colder than other beers before freezing which is very important. And then they went and ruined it. It taste bloody awful - like watered down, tastless rubbish. Home brew might be the next option. Although I have found carlton dry to be ok.

I have started a face book group against the change in Alc/Vol of Carlton Cold. If you support this please become a member so we may be able to get CUB to change it back they did this with cascade premium with size they down size cascade premium sales drop and then they changed back to 375ml. We can do this..

Damn they had the best tasting beer in the old Carlton Cold and now dropped the Alchol content to 4%. But the taste has changed. It taste likes beer thats been chilled, warmed up possibly in the sun and rechilled. Yuk. Why or why? Now in search of another!!!

One wonders whether this had something to do with the excise duty. A tax concession if kept at 4% or below?

I heard they were dropping the percentage and was appauled. This USED to be my beer of choice but have vowed never to buy it again. I wil have to switch to Carlton Draught I think

Worth the $30 a case in my opinion. Good for getting someone started on beer.

Don't know what they did with the original recipe but the current one is c**p, this beer should head the way of Ballarat Bitter and disappear

No good at all, no wonder it is getting cheaper while other beers are becoming more expensive.

CUB, please don't continue to defame your own name by selling this crud.
The product should be banned or restricted to the young-uns and sold at a discounted rate.
Guaranteed headache the next day if you can push yourself to consume enough of the s#@t. This could only occur when partying at an event where the grog has been supplied.
My new theory on this is that CUB are pissing themselves about the fact they are still selling any of this, regardless of the price!

I swear by this beer and have converted many (i.e. about 5 or 6) fellow drinkers to it.

It is my lager of choice for taste and value for money - you can always find it somewhere for $30/slab or so and it is virtually hangover-proof.

All the whingers here b***hing about it either didn't drink it cold enough or else they are fancy-beer wankers. True enough the tinnies were rubbish but they are long gone and only the quality remains.

Carlton Cold is P**ckin great. Excels in price, taste and strength. One of the beers that I have never had a hangover and have knocked back a carton in one night - no probs getting straight back into it the next day either.

Honestly, you may as well be drinking water. Tastes the same and is a h**l of a lot cheaper!

Carbonated water with a weak beer flavouring. Forget it.

I dont mind it. The original beer for the cordial mixer. Not my first choice, probably 5th or 6th in line for Aussie beers.

the new carlton cold is a tasteless beer and is much akin to drinking carbonated alcoholic water. if you do not like beer but just want to get drunk then this is probably your beer. tasteless with lower alcohol content would suit someone who's tongue got burnt off in a fire and doesn't know any better. as the great man once said "shame shame shame "
