Anyone who gives this beer one star knows very little about beer. If they are normally a wine drinker or commercial/continental type lager drinker they should say so in their review or refrain from making it at all. This is probably the best dark ale produced in Australia by a mainstream brewer and it deserves more respect.

This is the best beer I have ever tasted. It has a slight fruity taste, it is refreshingly bubbly and holds a frothy head to the bottom of the glass.
Unfortunately with so many choices these days, it has been overlooked and is not stocked by many retailers. It would be a darned shame if it was discontinued.

Substitute this for Guiness when cooking.

Did not like this at all. Tasted like I had picked up a mates empty stubby that they had been putting cigarette butts in.

quite costly, slightly nice taste at the start which quickly dissipates to a flavorless watery fluid. Does not compare to any other dark ales. This is just the screwed up carlton draught batches that went black, and were bottled and sold for a profit. Don't bother...

A refreshing flavour of roasted malt, not enough body really but not a bad attempt
The closest I have found so far to Beer although too fizzy it is getting more towards the type of beer I prefer to drink!
I hope to find some beer soon that hasn't just been churned out without care for flavour and body but as said this one gets closer to what I prefer

This is the king of beers. It has a deep, thick flavour with a good aftertaste that you can spend all night on.

I can only guess that they stopped distributing it widely on tap because a bunch of clowns wouldn't give it a go. If they'd bothered trying it out this would have been the huge hit it deserved to be.
